The
Sunriser was the first High-Lift wing ever introduced
to the Powered Parachute market. First introduced as the
PP-500 in 1987 it has gone through several evolutions to
make it what it is today, still the highest lift rectangular
wing on the market. We currently offer two sizes of the
Sunriser, a 500 and a 550 SQ FT model. The Sunriser 500
is designed for the lighter two-place machine and has been
the standard for many years. In fact, the Sunriser 500 was
the wing of choice in the James Bond movie The World
is Not Enough. The Sunriser 550 was introduced in
2002, to meet the requirements for the newer, heavier two-place
machines or the person who just wants a little extra lift
on those warm days. Both the 500/550 have very nice turns
and are easy to inflate and launch.
Performance
Specifications:
Lots of people ask us for the performance specifications
of our wings so they can make an educated decision on what
to buy. We have always hesitated to offer information like
this. In reality, the performance specs of most wings have
been influenced more by marketing hype than accurate data.
What we prefer to do is try to understand what you are looking
for in your new wing. We do this by asking a few questions.
What wing do you currently fly, your likes and dislikes,
and what you expect out of the new wing. We will then try
to steer you towards the wing that will meet your requirements.
We can also provide a Demo canopy for you to
fly, should you choose our wing. You wouldnt buy a
car without test-driving it first would you?

Depends on the weight suspended, the horsepower of the engine
and thrust produced by the prop.
Descent Rate -
Minimum
10 feet per second @ what weight
Maximum 13 feet per second @ what weight
With a properly executed flare 0 to 4 feet per second
Canopy
Size - 500 Sq. Ft./ 46.44 sq. M.
Chord - 12.60 Ft. / 3.84 M.

Weight Adjustments For Landing Conditions
-Reduce all weight by 2% per 1000 ft (300M) landing elevation
-Reduce all weight by an additional 1% for every 3º
C (5º F) above standard day temperature, which is
15º C
(59º F) at sea level.
Wing Loading
This is at the discretion of the machine manufacturer. Wing
loading in this instance is defined as the maximum impact
of the machine at landing without sustaining major damage
to the vehicle, pilot or passenger. It also should not decrease
the ascent rate or increase the descent rate beyond the
comfort zone of the pilot and passenger.
